1. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT)

Located in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is the largest container port in India carrying both imports and exports.

2. Mundra Port

Located in Kutch, Gujarat, it is the largest private port in India and a major hub for containers and bulk cargo. 

3. Chennai Port

Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, it is the third oldest port in India and is known as the ‘Gateway of India’.

4. Paradip Port

Located in Odisha, it is a major port for handling bulk cargo such as iron ore, coal, and crude oil. 

5. V. O. Chidambaranar Port (VOCP)

Located in Tuticorin (Thoothukudi), Tamil Nadu, it is the 4th largest container terminal in India. 

6. Deendayal Port Trust, Kandla

Located in Kandla, Gujarat, it is one of the major ports on the west coast of India.

7. Cochin Port

Cochin Port or Kochi Port is a major port on the Arabian Sea – Laccadive Sea – Indian Ocean sea-route in the city of Kochi and is also the first transshipment port in India.  

8. Mumbai Port

Located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is a major port in India and a natural deep-water seaport operated by MbPT. 

9. Vishakapatnam Port

Located in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, it is ranked 3rd in cargo volume. 

10. Ennore Port

Located in North Chennai, Tamil Nadu, it is one of India’s new ports which is a prime handler of coal.
