Hyundai Verna has secured a 5-star rating for adult and child occupant safety in the latest Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash tests.
For adult safety, the sedan has scored a total of 28.18 points out of 34.
The car secured 42 out of the maximum 49 points for child safety.
With this, of all the cars currently on sale in the Indian market, Verna has become the fifth car to secure a 5-star rating.
The automaker has revealed that it has also participated voluntarily in the newly introduced Bharat NCAP program.
The other 4 cars that have received 5-star safety rating are — Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
