Himachal Pradesh Sundernagar Result 2022: BJP's Rakesh Jamwal wins by over 8000 votes

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Polls: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rakesh Jamwal won the Sundernagar seat by a margin of over 8,000 votes. He defeated his nearest Congress rival by 8,125 votes.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a see-saw battle between BJP and Congress. Opposition Congress is leading on 38 seats while the ruling BJP won one seat and was ahead on 26 seats. Independent candidates were ahead on three assembly seats, according to Election Commission data.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had fielded candidates on 67 seats, is yet to open its account in the state. The counting of votes for Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections Results 2022 began at 8 AM today.

Also, six-time Congress MLA Asha Kumari is trailing in Himachal Pradesh's Dalhousie assembly seat with BJP candidate D S Thakur in the lead with a margin of 7,191 votes, according to the Election Commission. Kumari is among the chief ministerial probables for the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Legislative Assembly Elections
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Himachal Pradesh on 12 November 2022 to elect 68 members of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. A total of 412 candidates, including 24 women and 99 independents, are in the fray. These candidates are majorly from BJP, Congress, and others like CPIM, AAP, and BSP.
