<p>This is the union’s fourth strike since 2023 and the third since CEO Brian Niccol took charge in 2024. A similar Red Cup Day strike last year forced about 60 stores to temporarily close.  The company has also faced criticism for recently shutting down hundreds of locations nationwide, including 59 unionised stores, often with just a few days’ notice. There is no set end date for the strike, and the union has indicated that more stores could join if Starbucks does not reach an agreement.</p>
