Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, who is under scrutiny for making derogatory remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has slammed the vandalism at Habitat Studio—where he performed his show—calling it a "senseless" act. He also affirmed that he will not be apologising for his remarks.  
The 36-year-old comedian has found himself in hot water after taking a jibe at Shinde’s political career by modifying the lyrics of a popular Hindi movie song during his show.
In a lengthy statement on X late Monday night, a defiant Kamra said those leaking his number on social media or calling him incessantly should know that all their calls go to his voicemail, where they will be subjected to "the very song" they hate.  
"I will not apologise... I don't fear this mob &amp; I will not be hiding under my bed, waiting for this to die down," Kamra wrote, adding that his statement was exactly what "Mr. Ajit Pawar (1st Deputy CM) said about Mr. Eknath Shinde (2nd Deputy CM)."

In his first reaction to controversy, Shinde said that while freedom of speech exists and satire is understood, there should be a limit to it. "The other person should also maintain a certain level; otherwise, action causes reaction," Shinde said in response to the vandalism by Shiv Sainiks, as PTI reported.
"This is like taking 'supari' (contract) to speak against someone," Deputy CM Shinde added.   Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has issued a notice to Kunal Kamra, asking him to appear before them, as per officials.
