Oil prices fell on Wednesday, weighed down by a weaker oil demand outlook and a rise in U.S. crude inventories despite growing expectations of ongoing OPEC-led supply cuts.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures touched their lowest level since April, falling to $63.59 per barrel before edging back to $63.98 by 0635 GMT. That was still down $1.07, or 1.6 percent, from their last settlement. "Crude oil prices crashed as U.S.-China trade tensions escalated last Friday," said Benjamin Lu of Singapore-based futures brokerage Phillip Futures.

Oil prices fell on Wednesday, weighed down by data that showed an increase in US crude oil and gasoline inventories. Brent crude oil futures were at $69.83 a barrel at 0444 GMT, down 13 cents from their last close.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $61.61 a barrel at 0209 GMT, 17 cents, or 0.3 percent, above their last settlement, and not far off the $62.21 May 2015 high reached last week.
