On the first day of 5G spectrum auction, bids worth over Rs 1.45 lakh crore

There has been a 1.5 times greater response than anticipated on the opening day of the 5G spectrum auction. The government is projected to get between 1.80 and 2 lakh crores of revenue from this auction, this auction will continue even today.

India is soon going to get 5G services. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the DoT's ( Department of Telecommunications) 5G Spectrum auction. Soon to provide 5G services, spectrum will be assigned to bidders. The cabinet has claimed that 5G services are going to be about 10 times higher than 4G services. PIB also detailed that "auction will be held for spectrum in various low like (600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz), Mid (3300 MHz) and High (26 GHz) frequency bands.” Cabinet also said that The bidders will have an option to surrender the specturm after 10 years with no future liabilities with respect to instalments.
