Vikas Oberoi, Chairman &amp; Managing Director, Oberoi Realty Limited said, "While initially demonetisation did its short-term consequences, we are&nbsp;confident that the sales volume will be more than restored in coming quarters of 2017."

The survey also said that 89%&nbsp;of the citizens want the government expenditure on healthcare should increase to bring it at par with international standards, with 40%&nbsp;saying that the investment should be used for improving infrastructure at existing government hospitals.

"We do not expect major changes in the conduct of fiscal policy and hence, view the budget as a market-neutral event," Morgan Stanley said in a research note.

Kotak Bank, in a research report&nbsp;said, “Many tax payers see the payment of taxes as a burden as they believe that the government has failed to deliver the desired level of social benefits to them in exchange for payment of taxes.”

Crisil today said the upcoming Union Budget could allocate funds to the tune of Rs 1.3-1.4 trillion in this sector for 2017-18, a move which could help in faster execution of projects in this space.

"Total taxes on gold is about 13% at present. This has to come down, between GST and Customs duty, to a reasonable level so that there is no incentive to grey market," Somasundaram P R, head of the WGC's India operations, told PTI.

CRISIL explained, “Government can support investment directly by spending more on infrastructure, particularly roads and affordable housing."

Sanjeev Prasad, Suvodeep Rakshit , Sunita Baldawa and Anindya Bhowmik of Kotak Institutional Equities wrote, “We expect the government to continue to focus on divestment of its stakes in various companies to bolster its overall revenues. The divestment figure will be crucial as tax revenues may not be entirely supportive of likely higher capital expenditure as well as revenue expenditure.”
