Ahead of its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19, a special Vande Bharat train's trial run was successfully conducted on Tuesday on the Katra-Sangaldan section of the 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line (USBRL) which connects Kashmir with the rest of the country.

The train will commence its journey from Katra in Reasi district and travel across the Pir Panjal mountain range. It will pass through Srinagar and reaching its final stop at Baramulla in north Kashmir. This development is part of the USBRL (Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link) project, which has been under construction for years.

JKSRTC starts electric buses in Jammu

Good news for the Vaishno Devi pilgrims as Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) has started electric buses. The bus service will start from Jammu Railway Station to Katra. The eco friendly buses were flagged of by the Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor K Skandan. The buses have several security features like CCTV camera, GPS to monitor the movement of buses, panic button in every seat and emergency door.
