According to a report by ICRA released on Wednesday, the growth in sum assured in the retail segment is expected to continue to outpace the growth in new business premiums. Private insurers have seen a 41% year-on-year increase in retail sum assured during the first nine months of FY2025, compared to a 30% increase in FY2024. This is much higher than the 17% growth in new business premiums, which was 7% last year.
