India attracted "record" foreign direct investments in the last seven years and the trend is expected to continue in the coming years as well on account of major structural reforms being undertaken by the government, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday.

The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), headed by Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, has cleared 15 foreign investment proposals worth Rs 12,200 crore, which includes investments from Apollo Hospitals, Hindustan Aeronautics, Dr Reddy's and Vodafone.

Pinning hopes on a slew of foreign direct investment (FDI) reforms unveiled by the government in 2016, the government expects that the momentum of high FDI inflows will continue in the new year. FDI inflows in January-September jumped 21% to $32.18 billion.
