The Odisha government extended the deadline for e-KYC (know your customer) verification of ration cards to February 15, Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said on Thursday.&nbsp;Speaking to reporters, Patra said the e-KYC verification of ration cards was supposed to end on January 31.

The RBI has also imposed a penalty of Rs 14 lakh on Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank for non-compliance with certain directions on 'Strengthening of Prudential Norms - Provisioning Asset Classification and Exposure Limit' and 'Know Your Customer' (KYC). 
Besides, penalties have been imposed on three other cooperative banks for contravention of certain norms.

Beneficiaries who haven't completed their e-KYC process are advised to do it soon to avail benefits. The last date for e-KYC is July 31, 2022. Earlier, the deadline was May 31, 2022, but the government later extended it. Apart from that the government also temporarily suspended the aadhaar-based eKYC through OTP Authentication.
