The Indian Commercial Pilots` Association (ICPA) has demanded the immediate termination of Air India`s Director (Operations) Arvind Kathpalia from the national carrier`s board calling him a "repeated offender" who endangers passengers lives.

Pilots on duty who consume alcohol before or during flights should be treated as criminals, aviation experts said, adding that pilots should undergo breath analyser tests before and after a flight and any violation should be treated as a criminal offence.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is likely to ground over 130 pilots and 430 cabin crew members of national carrier Air India for allegedly skipping the mandatory pre and post-flight alcohol test.
