Indian Army wins 5th ‘International Army Scout Masters Competition’

Indian Army took the pole position in the 5th ‘International Army Scout Masters Competition’. The event took place in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer. It was the first time when the Indian Army took part in the competition. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also present during closing ceremony. Teams from 8 countries, including India, Russia and China participated in the competition. The five stages of the competition were infiltration and ambush, scout specialist course, scout trail obstacle course, small arms firing, floatation and exfiltration.
Rajnath Singh unfurls tricolour at his residence in Delhi

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hoisted tricolour in the national capital on August 15. The event took place at his residence. He unfurled the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day. The nation is celebrating its 73rd Independence Day on August 15. A horizontal rectangular tricolour of saffron, white and green with the Ashoka Chakra at its centre, the Indian flag is described in the constitution as a symbol of hopes and aspirations of the people of India.
Kashmir Issue Solution is on the Cards: Rajnath

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday assured the country that a solution to the vexed Kashmir issue was on the cards and Jammu and Kashmir would get rid of militancy soon. “Kashmir samasya ka hal jaldi hone wala hai (the resolution of the Kashmir issue is on the cards). I am assuring it with full responsibility,” Singh told a gathering after inaugurating a bridge over the Ujh river in Kathua district built at a cost of Rs 50 crore. He said as home minister in the previous Narendra Modi government, he had made numerous attempts to hold talks with stakeholders to thrash out a solution to the decades-old dispute.
Rajnath Singh pays tributes to martyred soldiers at Kargil War Memorial in Drass

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today paid tributes to martyred soldiers at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass as part of the week-long celebrations of 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He also signed the Visitors Book at the War Memorial. Mr Singh, in his message in the Visitors Book, wrote that on the historical occasion he salutes all those warriors of Kargil War who sacrificed everything for the sake of the nation. The courage and valour of the martyrs is a lesson to all Indians today, he added. The Defence Minister interacted with troops and reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China a short while ago. Later in the afternoon, Defence Minister will inaugurate two bridge projects on the rivers Ujh in Kathua district and Basantar in Samba district of Jammu division. These two bridges are significant for border security and connectivity. The Defence Minister is accompanied by Minister of State, in the Prime Minister Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh.
