US to restart free at-home COVID-19 test kits from September 25

Amid rising new cases and a possible winter surge of Covid-19, the US is looking to restart its free at-home Covid-19 test kit programme from September 25, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has said.

The study found a higher chance of dying within one year after discharge in males, those more than 40 years of age, those with comorbidities and in those who had moderate-severe COVID disease to begin with. Out of 14,419 participants contacted 6.5% all- cause mortality were reported.
