Bharti Airtel had recently raised USD 1.25 billion from six global investors -- Warburg Pincus, Temasek, Singtel, SoftBank Group and others through a primary equity issuance in Airtel Africa.&nbsp;

Airtel board forms committee to explore fund raising options for strengthening balance sheet

The company resorted to this move following the recent subscription of shares in Airtel Africa by six leading global investors comprising Warburg Pincus, Temasek, Singtel, SoftBank Group International and others for an aggregate consideration of USD 1.25 Billion, said the statement.&nbsp;

The divestment under the agreement between the two companies also includes towers currently under construction in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Bharti Airtel has approved a Rs 28,220 crore preferential share swap with promoter-group entity Indian Continent Investment Limited, paving the way for a strategic consolidation of its stake in UK-listed subsidiary Airtel Africa.
