India's automobile sales surged by a robust 11.6 per cent in 2024 to scale the highest-ever mark of 2.5 crore units compared to the corresponding figure of 2.3 crore units in the previous year, according to wholesale data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Tuesday.

Segment-wise, two-wheeler sales grew 10.7 per cent, three-wheelers 10.4 per cent, passenger vehicles 5.1 per cent and tractor 2.5 per cent segments posted growth, while commercial vehicles remained nearly flat at 0.07 per cent, according to data released by FADA.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Tuesday released Vehicle Retail Data for 42 days festive period that began on the first day of Navratri and ended 15 days post Dhanteras.
