The AQI is classified into six categories: 0-50 'good', 51-100 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor', and 401-500 'severe'. The 'moderate' category, which is assigned from 101 to 200, indicates the rise of pollution levels, which can cause persons with asthma, lung or heart disease to have difficulty in breathing.&nbsp;

Delhi's air quality improved slightly on Friday morning, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 370 at 8 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

With air quality in the national capital deteriorating sharply, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has already invoked Stage III curbs under GRAP across the entire National Capital Region, categorising Delhi's air as the 'severe' category.
