WhatsApp is reportedly working on Touch ID and Face ID integration for its iPhone app. The iOS WhatsApp Business App will likely get support for the same very soon.
1/7Till now, the iPhone users have never been able to lock their WhatsApp messenger with any PIN or any other third party authentication.
2/7To solve this issue, WhatsApp is working to support both Touch ID and Face ID to lock and unlock the messaging app on iOS.
3/7The feature is presently in its high alpha stages, according to Wabetainfo. This means the App will rolling out the feature to the public will take time and needs some more improvements.
4/7This feature would only be available to those with the latest version of WhatsApp on the user's iPhones. This feature would show up under the Privacy Settings.
5/7According to Wabetainfo report, the Touch ID option will show up for iPhones that support the older authentication method, while for iPhone X and upwards, the Face ID unlock option will show up in the app.
6/7The feature will allow iOS WhatsApp users to authenticate their login every time they open the app, once the feature is enabled.
7/7The WhatsApp will ask iPhone users to fill in the PIN for their devices to unlock the app, if the Face ID or Touch ID fails.
