WhatsApp Feature Update! You can soon block messages from unknown accounts - Check Details

The messaging application is constantly working on its security tools, improving the chat application to a higher extent, and offering a safer experience to WhatsApp users.

The new feature is still in the testing phase. It has been recently identified in the Android beta 2.24.17.24 version titled ‘block texts from unknown accounts'. 

WhatsApp has started rolling out this new feature to a few beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program.

The messaging application already includes a ‘block’ tool that allows users to limit unwanted contacts. However, this feature only functions on those people whose contact numbers are stored in the contact list of the device. 

 

Now the new ‘Block unknown account messages’ feature of WhatsApp will provide a safer experience to its users, protect users’ accounts, and improve the performance of the device as well. The feature will be located in the advanced settings section. This forthcoming feature of the messaging application will block messages from unidentified accounts if they surpass a certain volume.

The new upcoming feature of WhatsApp titled ‘block texts from unknown accounts’ will block texts by cutting down spam or unsolicited messages. As per the report, the new feature will ultimately ease the amount of data the messaging application requires to process messages. 

As mentioned above the new ‘block texts from unknown accounts’ features will filter out messages, the new block abilities of the feature will also safeguard users’ accounts from phishing attacks. Although the new upgrade of WhatsApp is rolling out for beta testers currently, it will be available for general users in the forthcoming weeks.
