Apple iPhone to be killed in 2018? Check out what is on cards

The US technology firm, Apple Inc, launched iPhone X as its most expensive phone last year. The iPhone X, which is Apple's most advanced model, featured a screen that stretched across the entire device. With advanced front-sensors, iPhone X can scan your face to keep it secure. The much-hyped smartphone, however, is likely to be discontinued this year. if earnings from one of the company's top suppliers is anything to go by, according to an analyst.

Apple's iPhone X will be killed off this year, said Mirabaud analyst Neil Campling, and wrote a note stating, “With the declines in iPhone X orders and the inventory issue at TSMC at record highs which basically reflect a need to burn off inventory. Why? Because the iPhone X is dead.”

As several reports are guessing about the launch of new Apple iPhone by September, KGI Securities said in a note seen by Business Insider recently that it could be priced between $550 and $650.

The new low-cost iPhone will reportedly be one of three models that are expected to be launched. Besides, an updated version of the iPhone X is also expected to be launched along with a super-sized iPhone X.

The new model is guessed to be less expensive than iPhone X as it is stated to be using a less advanced screen. Reports also say it will use an LCD screen, instead of the OLED screen on the iPhone X. OLED screens reportedly use less power and have better colours.
