Thomson is quite an old company. Please tell us something about its market share in India.
Thomson’s presence in India dates back three decades. It first entered the market as a CRT brand four decades ago and quickly established itself as one of the top three brands in the country. We reintroduced Thomson in 2017-18, and right from the start, we saw a significant increase in demand. Our current goal is to capture approximately 6 per cent of the market share in India.
What are the targets in terms of market share and how the company is planning to achieve them?
SPPL along with brand Thomson, is now eyeing to capture 8 per cent market share in the smart TV segment in the coming 2 years. SPPL plans to expand its product lineup, offering a range of smart TVs with advanced features such as 4K resolutions, AI integration, and enhanced connectivity options. We are focused on delivering high-quality smart TVs at competitive prices. This involves optimizing manufacturing processes and cost management to offer affordable options without compromising on features. SPPL is committed to enhancing customer satisfaction through superior after-sales service, robust warranty policies, and a user-friendly interface. This emphasis on customer support helps in building brand loyalty and positive word-of-mouth.
Which is one thing that you think makes Thomson stand out from the crowd?
One notable aspect of Thomson TVs is their focus on delivering high-quality, feature-packed products at competitive prices. This emphasis on value for money sets Thomson apart from many competitors. They successfully incorporate advanced technologies such as 4K resolution, smart TV features, and stylish designs while keeping their prices affordable. This combination of cost-efficiency and advanced features makes Thomson TVs a compelling choice for consumers seeking top performance without a high price tag. Moreover, Thomson’s strategic alliances with streaming services and attention to local market preferences further bolster its appeal in India.
Ahead of the festive season, what big Thomson is planning?
This festive season is crucial for Thomson TVs, as the emphasis has shifted from HD and FHD models to QLEDs. We will concentrate on offering QLEDs in sizes ranging from 32 to 65 inches, with the 65-inch QLEDs currently being the largest size in Thomson. To capitalize on this, we’ve decided to offer some of the best prices of the year on all our QLED TVs during the festive season.
