Tech giant Apple may introduce cost-effective Vision headset to serve as an iPhone accessory
A report suggests that Apple is planning to unveil a more cost-effective variant of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, crafted to serve as an iPhone accessory. The report claims that Apple is quite serious about the expansion of a Vision line headset that uses the processing power of the iPhone. Apple's new product is expected to feature a display and a battery and will allow the transfer of all data to a paired iPhone for processing. As per the report, the new Vision headset is expected to be more accessible as compared to the Vision Pro, which will be priced at a lower price and will be compatible with iPhones. Reports suggest the new headset will strengthen the iPhone as the centre of Apple’s product network.
Earlier, it was reported that tech giant Apple intended to unveil an affordable variant of the Vision Pro in 2025, which will be armed with a less powerful processor and only a few high-end features. Nevertheless, some tech analysts have revealed that Apple has postponed this model until 2027, indicating that the tech firm might emphasize the development of the Vision accessory for iPhones rather than the expansion of a standalone, which will be a more cost-effective Vision Pro headset.
Tech analyst Ming-Chi KuoIn has described via a post on the social media platform that the company is certain that merely reducing the cost of the Vision headset will not be enough to design an effective use case for a separate headset. This suggests that the tech company is inclined towards the development of Vision accessory as a more feasible choice instead of chasing a less expensive standalone model. Kuo has also revealed that Apple might introduce a second-generation version of the Vision Pro headset by next year, which is expected to feature a new M5 processor.
