Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G Unveiled: Samsung is all set to expand its Galaxy M series with the launch of — Galaxy M17e 5G — in India next week. Ahead of the official launch, the company has released details about the new member of the Galaxy M series. This device will have a 6000mAh battery, and it has a 6.7-inch HD+ screen and MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor.

According to the company, the device is capable of delivering "reliable performance and everyday usability across key smartphone features." Also, the "Galaxy M series is already among Samsung’s most widely-used smartphone line-ups in India," the company said in a release.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Colour options

The Galaxy M17e 5G will be available in two colour options: Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Display

The Galaxy M17e 5G is 8.2mm slim and will feature a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports Adaptive Brightness with High Brightness Mode (HBM), which automatically adjusts brightness based on the surrounding lighting conditions for better visibility even in direct sunlight. The device carries an IP54 water and dust-resistance rating.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Battery

The device is powered by a 6000mAh battery. The company says that this battery, combined with One UI 8's optimisations, "ensures that users can move through the day without worrying about power" consumption. Additionally, to reduce battery consumption, the Galaxy M17e is designed to put unused apps to sleep.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Processor

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor, which features two Cortex-A76 2.4GHz performance cores and six Cortex-A55 2.0GHz efficiency cores. The integrated Arm Mali-G57 GPU handles graphics processing for multimedia playback and general gaming, while also reducing power consumption, the company said.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Camera

The Galaxy M17e 5G features a 50MP primary camera system, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there's an 8MP front camera.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Operating System

The Galaxy M17e 5G runs on Samsung's One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16. Additionallly Samsung has promised six generations of operating system (OS) upgrades and six years of security updates – the highest in the segment.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G: Secure Samsung Ecosystem

The Galaxy M17e 5G is equipped with an Auto Blocker that prevents the installation of applications from unauthorised sources to block malicious activity, and the Samsung Knox Vault that protects sensitive information by isolating important data such as passwords and financial credentials in a secure hardware environment.
