Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Gets AirDrop: Sharing files between an iPhone and an Android device has long been a challenge for users. In a move to simplify this, Samsung Electronics on Monday, March 23, announced that it is bringing AirDrop-style support to its latest flagship smartphones.

The South Korean tech company has said that it has started rolling out the AirDrop file sharing feature via Quick Share on the Galaxy S26 series. However, this feature is currently limited to the Galaxy S26 series only and plans to expand it to other devices in the future, the company added.

"AirDrop support will initially be available on the Galaxy S26 series, with expansion to additional devices to be announced at a later date," said the company in a release

Galaxy S26 series launched last month

The Galaxy S26 series was unveiled globally in late February at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in California. The line-up includes three models — the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra — and represents Samsung’s third generation of AI-focused smartphones. According to the company, these devices are designed to handle complex tasks in the background, shifting user attention from processes to outcomes.

Galaxy S26 Ultra

At the top end, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is powered by a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and supports Super Fast Charging 3.0, which can charge the device up to 75 per cent in around 30 minutes. It also becomes the first Galaxy smartphone to support APV, a professional-grade video codec targeted at advanced content creators.

The Ultra variant is available in multiple finishes, including Cobalt Violet, White, Black, Sky Blue, as well as Samsung-exclusive Pink Gold and Silver Shadow, with prices starting at Rs 1,39,999.

Galaxy S26

The standard Galaxy S26 carries forward the same AI-driven approach, featuring a customised chipset tuned for performance, efficiency and thermal management. Security remains a key focus, with Samsung Knox, post-quantum cryptography safeguards and a promise of seven years of security updates.

It shares the same colour options as the Ultra and starts at Rs 87,999.

Galaxy S26+

Positioned between the two, the Galaxy S26+ offers similar AI capabilities and performance architecture. It includes features such as ProScaler and the mobile Digital Natural Image engine, along with layered privacy protections like Call Screening, Privacy Alerts and the Personal Data Engine secured by Knox Vault.

The S26+ is priced from Rs 1,19,999 and is available in the same colour palette as the rest of the series.
