Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G Launched: Samsung has expanded its Galaxy M series in India with the launch of the Galaxy M17e 5G. Priced starting at Rs 13,999, this new member of the Galaxy M series has a 6000mAh battery and a 6.7-inch HD+ screen.

According to the company, the Galaxy M series is among Samsung’s most popular smartphone line-ups, and the Galaxy M17e 5G builds on this legacy.

The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G comes in two variants - 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, with the price starting from Rs 13,999. The smartphone will be available for sale on Samsung's official website, Amazon, and select retail outlets starting March 20.

From features and battery to colour options and processor - here's the key things to know:

• The Galaxy M17e 5G will be available in two colour options: Vibe Violet and Blitz Blue.
• The Galaxy M17e 5G is 8.2mm slim and will feature a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
• It supports Adaptive Brightness with High Brightness Mode (HBM), which automatically adjusts brightness based on the surrounding lighting conditions for better visibility even in direct sunlight.
• The device carries an IP54 water and dust-resistance rating.
• The device is powered by a 6000mAh battery.
• The company says that this battery, combined with One UI 8's optimisations, "ensures that users can move through the day without worrying about power" consumption.
• To reduce battery consumption, the Galaxy M17e is designed to put unused apps to sleep.
• The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor, which features two Cortex-A76 2.4GHz performance cores and six Cortex-A55 2.0GHz efficiency cores.
• The integrated Arm Mali-G57 GPU handles graphics processing for multimedia playback and general gaming, while also reducing power consumption, the company said.
• The Galaxy M17e 5G features a 50MP primary camera system, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there's an 8MP front camera.
• The Galaxy M17e 5G runs on Samsung's One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16.
• Samsung has promised six generations of operating system (OS) upgrades and six years of security updates – the highest in the segment.
• The Galaxy M17e 5G is equipped with an Auto Blocker that prevents the installation of applications from unauthorised sources to block malicious activity, and the Samsung Knox Vault that protects sensitive information by isolating important data such as passwords and financial credentials in a secure hardware environment.
