OPPO rolls out F29 Series in India: Price, availability, AI features, other key things tech enthusiasts must know

OPPO F29 Series Launched In India: OPPO India has launched two new smartphones in India under the OPPO F29 Series. Boasting industry-leading dust and liquid protection, the OPPO F29 Series is designed to endure India’s diverse and demanding environments, according to the official release. With IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, the F29 Series is the toughest smartphone in its segment, it added.

OPPO F29, OPPO F29 Pro: 360° Armour Body, Military-Grade Durability

The devices are built with a 360° armour body that features sponge bionic cushioning to absorb shocks from accidental drops. The F29 Series is further strengthened by an aerospace-grade AM04 aluminum alloy frame that enhances durability by 10 per cent over its predecessor, the company claims. Tested against 14 rigorous Military Standard (MIL-STD-810H-2022) challenges—from extreme temperatures and rain to shock, dust, salt mist, and vibrations—the F29 Series is built to survive where others fail, it added.

The devices feature a 50MP main camera, 2MP depth camera, and 16MP selfie cameras. However, the standout feature is the Underwater Photography mode, which OPPO has introduced in F29 Series. With this mode, users can capture life’s moments, whether rain or shine, above ground or underwater, according to the release.

The handsets also come with AI-powered camera features:

• AI Livephoto: First introduced with the Find X8 Series, this mode automatically records video clips from 1.5 seconds before the shutter is pressed to 1.5 seconds after while intelligently eliminating any handshake. There is even an option to convert these Livephotos to GIFs to share as memes.
• AI Unblur: The OPPO F29 Series ensures that each picture retains details and colours even when the subject is in constant motion.
• AI Reflection Remover: This feature ensures pristine photos with no reflections from glass whether you are shooting a cityscape from behind a window, or a sunset from a flight.
• AI Eraser 2.0: This feature eliminates photo bombers in holiday photos or an unsightly object in the background.

OPPO F29, OPPO F29 Pro: Gen AI Features

The OPPO F29 Series is equipped with several GenAI features. Its Documents app includes tools like AI Summary, AI Rewrite, and Extract Chart. Its AI Toolbox 2.0 includes productivity features like Screen Translator, AI Writer, AI Reply, and AI Recording Summary that can record meetings—in English, Hindi, and Tamil—as long as five hours and generate notes, summaries, and transcripts. OPPO's proprietary AI Linkboost 2.0 tackles weak network signals to provide smooth and stable connections, according to the official release.

Additionally, Circle to Search with Google allows users to instantly search for anything on-screen with a simple long press of the home button or navigation bar.

The OPPO F29 Pro will be available in two colours: Marble White and Granite Black. On the other hand, the OPPO F29 will be available in Solid Purple and Glacier Blue colours.

The F29 Pro 5G will be priced at Rs 27,999 for the 8GB + 128GB, Rs 29,999 for 8GB + 256G, and Rs 31,999 for 12GB + 256GB variants. The handset will be available for purchase starting April 1 on OPPO E-store, Flipkart, Amazon, and mainline retail outlets.

On the other hand, the OPPO F29 has two variants, priced at Rs 23999 and Rs 25999 for 8GB+12GB and 8GB+256GB variants, respectively. The device will be available for purchase starting March 27 on OPPO E-store, Flipkart, Amazon, and mainline retail outlets.
