Rajdip Kumar Gupta, Promoter & MD, Route Mobile and Sandip Kumar Gupta, Promoter and Non-Executive Director, talks about the bumper listing and plans including acquisition during a conversation with Swati Khandelwal, Zee Business. Edited Excerpts:
Q: Congratulations on the fantastic listing. What are your reactions to the fantastic listing of your company?
Rajdip Kumar Gupta: It is a very great moment for us. We received around 15 lakh applications of which allotments were made to just 1.20 lakh applicants. But, I would like to thank each and everyone who applied for the IPO. This is a moment that we want to cherish and enjoy. However, with this, we have got a responsibility to improve and grow our performance on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis and keep innovating to maintain the growth of the company.
Q: I would like to know from both of you that how much of your borrowings will be reduced with the raised money and what's the money you would keep aside for strategic acquisitions?
Sandip Kumar Gupta: Right now, we can’t say the exact amount as it is in the discussion phase but surely will soon discuss and pass on its information to the market.
Rajdip Kumar Gupta: We believe that there will be acquisitions in the days to come and it will depend on how much capabilities that company has and what valuations we will give to it. Right now, we are at the due diligence stage and based on the report we will make a decision. Currently, we haven’t reached the level where the amount can be decided but it will be shared in the market very soon.
Q: Going forward, what are going to be the two-three key focus areas from where you plan to get growth and what are the plans of the company?
Rajdip Kumar Gupta: Our business model is in three parts. I think, out 20% revenue comes from the operators. Our complete software that helps in monetization has been deployed among 8-10 operators across the world. It has also been deployed with India’s largest operator. In total, there is just a 20% unique offering of Route Mobile that monetizes and generate revenue for the operators. It helps in identifying the revenue leakages of the operators and suggest them the ways to monetize and implement our solutions to generate more revenue. In this way, we have almost 8-9 operators globally, where it has been deployed and this complete work happens at our company 365squared that is based in Malta. In the recent past, we also increased our complete operator offering, may it be SMS, MMS or network monitoring tools. We have added a stack in our offering for the operators. So, the operators’ revenue will go up in the coming days.
The second leg of revenue comes from the enterprise side, whether it is an OTT player or a normal enterprise. This business has 80% contribution to our revenue. So in the enterprise segment, we offer communication platform as a service to the customers, which is a cloud communication platform of our company. This means if an enterprise customer wants to communicate in a better manner with its end-user, whether the communication channel is WhatsApp or RCS or e-mail or SMS or voice, all of these offerings are available on our communication platform. He just needs to select the channel to communicate with the end-user.

Every communication channel has a different pricing model like voice may be different, SMS may be different, RCS may be different ad WhatsApp will be different. In this way, if you look at the Route Mobile then it is a cut-out communication platform, where an enterprise has the choice to choose the channel that he wants to use and communicate with his end-users.
