Google has rolled out its new AI Plus plan in India, offering users wider access to its latest AI models, including Gemini 3 Pro, along with upgraded image and video tools, deeper integration inside Google apps, and cloud storage benefits. The tech major said the plan is designed to bring “powerful, everyday AI” directly into the hands of Indian users at an accessible monthly cost. With on-device safety upgrades and expanded productivity features, Google is positioning AI Plus as a one-stop subscription for creativity, research, and communication. The launch also comes at a time when Google is sharpening its AI safety roadmap for India, especially for children, senior citizens and first-time users.
Here are six key things to know:
Google said the new subscription unlocks a wider range of AI capabilities across its ecosystem. The biggest addition is expanded access to Gemini 3 Pro inside the Gemini app, offering more advanced reasoning, writing and coding abilities. The plan also enables users to generate richer images and videos through upgraded tools such as Nano Banana Pro and Flow, both aimed at faster, higher-quality multimedia creation.
One of the core upgrades is deeper integration of Gemini into everyday Google apps. AI Plus subscribers will see the model powering tasks across Gmail, Docs, Photos and Drive, enabling smarter drafting, summarising, file search and workflow automation. Google said the subscription is structured to “boost productivity without disrupting existing workflows” for students, professionals and creators.
AI Plus users also gain extended access to NotebookLM, Google’s research assistant tool. The company said this will help users handle larger documents, analyse complex topics, and generate structured notes more efficiently.
The plan comes with 200 GB of cloud storage across Google Photos, Drive and Gmail. Benefits can be shared with up to five family members, making it more suitable for households and collaborative users. Pricing has been set at Rs 399 per month, but Google is offering an introductory price of Rs 199 per month for the first six months for new subscribers.
“It opens up access to powerful AI tools to level up your productivity and creativity — all at an accessible price,” Google said in its statement.
Google’s India-focused safety roadmap, unveiled earlier in November, continues to be a major pillar of its AI expansion.
The plan includes:
The scam-detection feature will launch on Pixel devices and works entirely on-device, analysing calls in real time without uploading audio or transcripts to Google servers. It applies only to unknown numbers and remains off by default.
