<p>The Facebook Developer Conference kicked off in San Jose on Tuesday night with more than 5,000 developers, creators and entrepreneurs from around the world coming together for F8. The two-day event started with a keynote by Mark Zuckerberg on how Facebook is building a more privacy-focused social platform, giving people spaces where they can express themselves freely and feel connected to the people and communities that matter most. He then turned it over to leaders from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and AR/VR to share more announcements. </p>
<p>Unlike the previous few years, Facebook didn't make any major announcement for any of its platforms. But, a report by WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp is working on a feature to bring calling to the desktop version of the app. The WhatsApp tracker also shared the screenshots of the feature and said that it is still in the development stage. </p>
<p>"In these months, WhatsApp was working on a lot of improvements for their web client, but their first priority was to implement the possibility to make calls from WhatsApp Web/Desktop. The option to make calls will be available in the main menu in the chat," it reported. </p>
