Mumbai-based fertility startup Luma raises $4 million seed funding led by Peak XV’s Surge
The fresh funding will support Luma’s mission to transform fertility care in India through full-stack clinics focused on compassionate, outcome-driven care.

Luma fertility, a patient-centric and tech-enabled fertility startup, has raised $4 million seed funding from a number of investors, according to the company's statement.
The round was led by Peak XV’s Surge in which Ameera Shah (Metropolis Healthcare) and Vijay Taparia (B2V Ventures) also participated.
The fresh funding will support Luma’s mission to transform fertility care in India through full-stack clinics focused on compassionate, outcome-driven care.
The funding will also help Luma expand its footprint in Mumbai and later expand in subsequent cities over the next two years.
"Fertility care in India is at an inflection point. Demand is growing rapidly, but the system is deeply fragmented and outdated. Patients are forced to navigate a maze of clinics, labs, and specialists with little coordination or support. What drew me to Luma is their full-stack customer-first approach. Neha and her team are reimagining fertility with a clear vision to transform how care is delivered," said Shah.
Founded by Neha K. Motwani, Luma offers services such as IVF, egg and embryo freezing, and fertility assessments. This is also the first IVF clinic to launch an integrated app, enabling patients to track their journey, access reports, and stay informed, empowering them to take control of their fertility journey. Their AI-enabled tool, LumaAI, provides 24/7, jargon-free support for everything from cycle timelines to medication guidance.
In the startup space, most recently, Zango AI, a Bengaluru-based AI startup, has raised $4.8 million led by global venture capital firm Nexus Venture Partners. In the round, investors like South Park Commons, Richard Davies (CEO of Allica Bank), Alan Morgan (former head of Financial Services at McKinsey (EMEA)), Mark Ransford, Notion Capital, No Label Ventures, and Start Ventures also participated.
