Swiggy to provide simple homestyle, affordable meals, launches 'Daily' app
In a bid to put an end to your daily meal woes, food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy has launched ‘Swiggy Daily’, the first-of-its-kind homestyle meal subscription by a food delivery platform.
In a bid to put an end to your daily meal woes, food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy has launched ‘Swiggy Daily’, the first-of-its-kind homestyle meal subscription by a food delivery platform. The latest offering aims to give consumers access to various simple homestyle meals prepared by home chefs, tiffin service providers and organised vendors. The store is in line with Swiggy's announcements that its larger vision would be to elevate the quality of life of consumers by offering unparalleled convenience. The vision was revealed at the launch of Swiggy stores earlier this tear in February.
The 'Daily' app would list a menu of simple homestyle meals for lunch and dinner across veg and non-veg dishes. The app will list over 30 options for every meal which will change daily. Authentic meals, ranging from secret family recipes by home chefs to best-sellers by quality vendors, Daily will make food across cuisines like Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil and Gujarati available to users. The service will soon be extended to include snacks, beverages and cut fruits.
To make the process of placing an order easy, 'Daily' will let users schedule their meals in advance or opt for a daily, weekly or monthly subscription. The app will come with an added flexibility to pause, skip, change or cancel a meal and users will also have the freedom to customise their subscription plan further. The consumers will have the option to schedule a single meal or opt for a 3-day, 7-day or a month-long subscription. The users can also choose to top-up a meal with add-ons like beverages, sweets, raita, roti or rice. Keeping affordability as the key focus, the meals range from Rs 50 to Rs 150 with zero delivery fee.
The app has been launched as there is a growing demand for quality and affordable everyday meals, believes Sriharsha Majety, CEO, Swiggy.
"In less than five years, Swiggy has redefined food delivery in the country and made it mainstream by offering the widest choice of restaurants and layering it with reliable and fast deliveries. As we worked on various initiatives like Swiggy POP and SUPER to make food ordering more convenient and cost-effective, we realised that there is a growing demand for quality and affordable everyday meals. With a mix of organised vendors and home chefs, Swiggy Daily will cater to this latent demand for homestyle meals that are an affordable, long-term solution for our daily food needs," he said.
The platform will include meal options from a healthy mix of organised vendors like Homely, Lunchly, Fig, iDabba and Caloriesmart, popular tiffin services like Dial a Meal and Dailymeals.in that specialize in food fit for daily consumption and expert home chefs like Sumita’s Food Planet, Ahmed Kitchen and Shachi Jain.
As a promotional offer, first-time customers can avail a 20% discount for the first month on the Daily app. Swiggy Daily is currently live in Gurgaon and available to download on Android and iOS. The service will be expanded to Bangalore and Mumbai in the coming months.
