PM Kisan 18th installment: Why Rs 2,000 installment may not be credited to your bank account; here's what to do

PM Kisan Yojana, also called Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, is a Central Government scheme launched on December 1, 2018. This scheme supports farmers by providing annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000 which helps farmers cover their agricultural needs and improve their financial stability.

The government has already deposited 17 installments into beneficiaries' accounts. Farmers are now awaiting the 18th installment, which the government will release soon. 

It should be noted that the government has made it mandatory for the beneficiaries of this scheme to do these two key tasks-

1. e-KYC: Farmers need to complete the e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process.

2. Land Verification: Verification of land records is also required.

Farmers who do not complete these tasks will not receive the Rs 2,000 installment.

The e-KYC process is straightforward. Farmers can use the 'Face Authentication Feature' in the PM Kisan Mobile App to complete the process from home, without needing OTP or fingerprint verification.

Farmers can also complete biometric KYC at their nearest Common Service Center (CSC). If they opt for OTP-based KYC, it is free of charge. However, using a CSC may incur a nominal fee.

In addition to completing e-KYC, farmers should ensure:

- Their bank account is linked to their Aadhaar card. - Their Aadhaar and bank account details are correctly seeded. - The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) option is active in their Aadhaar-linked bank account. - They check their Aadhaar seeding status using the 'Know Your Status' feature on the PM Kisan portal.
