Fitment factor for 7th Pay Commission

For the 7th Pay Commission, it was kept at 2.57. It means basic pays central government employees were getting in the 6th Pay Commission were multiplied by 2.57.
Based on that, the minimum basic pay was increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. Similarly, the maximum basic was increased from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2,50,000.
Can we expect similar hike for 8th Pay Commission?

Based on current situations, it may not be 2.57 as it is calculated on the basic of dearness allowance and the expected salary rise recommended by a pay commission. The DA calculation for the fitment factor will be taken as on January 1, 2026.
If the DA rate at that time is 61 per cent and the expected pay rise is 25 per cent, the fitment factor will be 2.01.
