8th Central Pay Commission Revised Salary Calculations: For a central government, the 8th Pay Commission has a lot of importance. In whatever grade pay or pay band they are getting their salary at, whatever may be their basic salary, house rent allowance (HRA), travel allowance (TA), child education allowance, or other allowance, they may see a substantial rise to their payouts post 8th CPC revision. The revised amount may be more than double their existing salaries. It will depend on the fitment factor that the pay commission and the government decide. But if you are an employee with Grade 2,000 (Level 3, basic Rs 25,200, basic Rs 40,600), Grade 4,200 (Level 6, basic pay 41,100, Rs 66,000), 5,400 (Level 9, basic pay Rs 61,500) and (Level 10, basic pay Rs 80,000), or 6,600 (Level 11, basic pay Rs 80,900, Rs 1,21,100) in terms of salary. What may be your revised salary at a 2.28 fitment factor? How much house rent allowance (HRA), travel allowance (TA), you may receive post revisions. What may be your revised National Pension System (NPS) and Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) contributions? How much total in-hand salary may you get after the 8th pay commission salary revision? See estimates-

How will it decide salary revision?

How will it decide salary revision?

They talk to different trade unions and government department officials to know their salary expectations. Based on that, they prepare a report which includes revised pay and allowances. The decision is made on the basis of the fitment factor, the multiplier for salary revision. The pay commission prepares a report and submits it to the central government. The cabinet reviews it. Centre may go with the same fitment factor or may ask to revise it.

In central government jobs, the employee contribution to their NPS account is 10 per cent of their basic pay and dearness allowance (DA), while the employer contribution is 14 per cent. Since the employee's basic pay will be revised, they have to contribute to their NPS account.
Likewise, CGHS charges, which are fixed for employees at different levels, will also be revised.
