7th Pay Commission: If your job falls in the government's risk category profile, you must know about this special allowance for a government employee. The government has recently issued a notification, in which the number of eligible employees have been sought from all departments for Risk Allowance as per 7th Pay Commission. How much is the risk allowance
Employees falling under the risk category will get a risk allowance on the proposed guidelines of the 7th Pay Commission. The amount will be different for every department and will also depend on employee's length of service. The government has divided it into three categories such as high, medium and low. Allowance of Rs 25,000 per month
For example, an employee below level 8 will get a monthly risk allowance of Rs 4,100 for being in a high category. While the risk allowance for the employee above level 9 will be Rs 25,000 per month. Railways increased risk allowance last year

Allowance of Rs 4100
According to the Railway Board, the risk allowance of Mate and Keyman has been increased from Rs 2,700 to Rs 6,000. While the allowance of trackman, involved in patrolling duty has been increased from 2,700 to 4,100 rupees. Photo: Reuters
