Several reports have said in the last few weeks that the State Bank of India is withdrawing at least four services in the next three days. However, there is no need to worry as the largest lender of the country is effecting changes to improve banking facilities for its customers. Hence, alternatives are well in place. Look at them here:
Internet banking
Customers can't continue enjoying internet banking facility without linking their mobile numbers with the bank account. Most of the customers have already linked their mobile numbers. Others who want to continue using this service must do so before December 1.
"Attention INB users, please register your mobile number with us immediately, if not already done, through Branch, failing which the Internet Banking facility may be blocked with effect from 01.12.2018," SBI says on its official website.
Buddy shut down
The State Bank will shut down its Buddy app from November 30. The official communication by the bank has said that the decision to shut down SBI Buddy has been taken and accounts with nil balance are already being shut down.
SBI has already introduced an alternative to Buddy - YONO app that recently completed one year. YONO is a one-stop destination for banking while carrying on with social life.
Pension loan offer
SBI had introduced a loan offer during Diwali for those having pension account with it. The offer waived off processing fee for availing a pension loan. The offer was for only for central, state and defence pensioners who have note more than 76 years old and drew their pension from SBI. The offer is valid only till November 30, 2018.
Life Certificate submission
SBI has asked pension account holders to submit their Life Certificate by November 30, 2018. Now, they can do so online without visiting the bank.
The Life Certificate can be submitted online or an account holder can visit their bank branch to complete the process to continue receiving their monthly pension amount.
"The Jeevan Pramaan initiative makes life simpler for pensioners. In just a few clicks, you can submit your Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate! Enjoy your retirement with Jeevan Pramaan! The Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate gives pensioners the comfortable option of digital submission," SBI said in a series of tweets recently.
