No separate insurance policy cover required for coronavirus treatment: ICICI Lombard
According to ICICI Lombard's Executive Director Sanjeev Mantri, people need not worry too much about this. He said that there is no need to take a new health insurance policy as a measure to be prepared for coronavirus
China has been suffering with the Coronavirus epidemic and has taken more than 2200 lives till now. India has also not remained untouched and tensions started building up when three students from the South Indian state of Kerala were reported to be suffering from the virus outbreak. All three students have been declared healthy and have now been discharged from the hospital.
While the fear among people is not only on account of catching the virus but also the treatment having contacted it. There is a fear among many people regarding the medical expenses in the event of an individual catching it.
According to ICICI Lombard's Executive Director Sanjeev Mantri, people need not worry too much about this. He said that there is no need to take a new policy as a measure to be prepared for coronavirus, in the event of an individual catching it.
The existing health insurance policies will cover charges for hospitalisation and other expenses.
The ICICI Lombard Executive Director further said that his company has till now not received a claim form any policyholder with respect to coronavirus treatment.
