Financial participation must expand beyond numbers and must begin with knowledge. With this thought, Mirae Asset Mutual Fund ran an ambitious and thoughtful campaign. On the eve of Women's Day, the global mutual fund house has announced its entry into the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for successfully running the largest investment-focused financial literacy campaign for female participants.
As of March 2025, women accounted for just 25.9 per cent of India's mutual fund investors. This comes at a time when the country's mutual fund assets under management (AUM) have reached an all-time high of Rs 81.01 lakh crore.

During a 15-day campaign, organised from January 12 to January 26, its programmes delivered structured, in-person financial literacy education to a record 39,833 girl students through 571 sessions conducted across 45 cities and 320 colleges. This marked a much wider reach than its original goal of providing financial literacy education to 25,000 girl students through 600 programmes across 250 colleges in 30 cities.
The initiative was undertaken as part of an investor awareness and education effort to create mutual fund awareness among young women.
"We've always believed that knowledge, when introduced early, changes the trajectory of decision-making for life. Women today are not just participating in the economy, they're shaping it. But shaping an economy requires confidence in capital, and confidence comes from understanding. That is why we choose to go where futures are still being formed: college campuses," says Swarup Mohanty, Vice Chairman and CEO, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt Ltd.
"Women are reshaping our economy as professionals, entrepreneurs and decision makers. Our intention was simple - give them an early entry into financial knowledge. And what better place than college. This is where confidence is formed, where aspirations take shape, and where future investors are waiting not for products but for clarity," says Shrinivas Khanolkar, Head - Digital Business, Marketing and Corporate Communication, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt Ltd.
Mirae Asset Mutual Fund's achievement reflects its commitment to empowering women. Through its investor education programmes, Mirae ensured that more women have access to the tools and knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.
The global fund house remains committed to its mission of empowering women of all ages through financial education and awareness.
