<p>Banking services and transactions may be disrupted nationally on Wednesday, August 28, as the All India Bank Employees Association(AIBEA) has called for a nationwide strike today.</p>
<p>CH Venkatchalam, General Secretary of AIBEA, shared a post on X mentioning about demands from the government.</p>
<p>“AIBEA’s call for strike on 28th August 2024, Against political attack on trade union AIBOC–NCBE–BEFI–AIBOA–INBOC–INBEF extend support,” Venkatchalam wrote in a post on X.</p>
<p>“The proposed strike is to show our protest against the action of Bank of India in charge-sheeting all the 13 office bearers of Bank of India Staff Union-Kerala under political pressure,” AIBEA General Secretary C.H. Venkatachalam told IANS. Venkatachalam also said four of the charge-sheeted employees are ex-servicemen, including three who took part in the Kargil war.</p>
