Bank Holidays in April 2025: Are you wondering that banking services are closed on April 14 due to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti? The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a bank holiday on Equality Day, but for selected states and cities.
Ambedkar Jayanti, also known as Bhim Jayanti, is observed annually on April 14 to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the eminent politician, jurist, and social reformer who played a pivotal role in the Indian constitution.
According to the central bank, banking services are not available in over 20 states and UTs on this occasion, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), and Kerala.
