According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, banks will be closed in the following cities on September 5:
The Maharashtra Government has declared September 8 as a public holiday. In contrast, the previously announced holiday on September 5 has now been cancelled, RBI informed.
Note: Banks will function as usual in other locations across India on this date.
Please note that holiday schedules may vary by state. Each state has its own specific holiday calendar, and you can refer to the RBI official website for the most accurate and up-to-date holiday list.
Even though banks may be closed for Id-e Milad and Thiruvonam, you can still access a wide range of banking services online. Most banks provide online banking platforms that allow customers to perform a variety of transactions from the comfort of their home, even on holidays.
However, if you have urgent banking needs that require in-person service, it’s advisable to visit the bank before the holiday or after it reopens.
