PGIM India Mutual Fund announced the launch of ‘PGIM India Balanced Advantage Fund’ today. The NFO will open for subscription on January 15, 2021 and will close on January 29, 2021.

Mutual Funds in December: AUM of the mutual fund industry increased by 3.4% MoM (Rs 1.01 Lakh Cr) to Rs31 Lakh Cr in December 2020. On a QoQ basis, the total AUM of Mutual Funds increased by 15.5%. Average AUM (AAUM) of the Mutual Fund industry increased by 3.8% MoM. On a QoQ basis, the Total AAUM increased by 11.6%. In Dec 2020 net inflow from the industry was at Rs 2968 Cr as against net inflow of Rs 27194 Cr in Nov 2020.

Equity Mutual Funds AUM: Nifty scored a hat-trick ending 7.8% higher MoM in Dec '20. The Nifty ended CY20 with 15% YoY gains a solid performance in a year ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic. The index witnessed a spectacular rally in Q2 CY20 (up 24% QoQ) on the back of strong FII inflows and good corporate earnings. While FIIs inflows were at record highs, outflows by DIIs saw fresh highs too.
TRUST Mutual Fund has announced the launch of its maiden new fund offer (NFO) - TRUST MF Banking & PSU Debt Fund. It is an open-ended debt scheme predominantly investing in debt instruments of banks, public sector undertakings, public financial institutions and municipal bonds. The NFO will open for subscription from 15th of Jan and close on 27th of Jan 2021. The fund will be managed by Anand Nevatia along with Sandeep Bagla.

In December the Mutual Funds continued to remain net sellers in all the sectors with Banking & Finance, Cement & Engineering, FMCG and Metals being the top ones. Interestingly in the last two months- MFs are selling Banking & Finance and FMCG stocks while FPIs are buyers in those sectors. In December MFs sold equities almost worth Rs 370 bn while FPIs bought Rs 500 bn worth equities in the secondary market.
