1/11Despite, mixed global cues, mutual funds in India have remained put in IT stocks, with continued interest in some of the largecap IT stocks like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
2/11On a month-on-month basis, while buying interest has remained in IT stocks, net- there is selling in some of the big names like TCS, Persistent Systems and Coforge.
3/11The country's largest Mutual Fund by AUM- SBI- aggressively sold shares in the company in the review period i.e. May, 2025. However, Mutual Funds that bought the scrip in good quantity, included ICICI Prudential, Franklin Templeton and Mirae among others.Net selling in the scrip was to the tune of 9,35,652 equity shares.
4/11Mutual fund houses like ICICI Pru, DSP, Tata, Axis and Mirae bought stake in the scrip, while those who offloaded included funds like Franklin Templeton, Kotak and SBI among others
5/11Funds like SBI, Axis and Aditya Birla Sunlife among others bought stake, while HDFC, PPFAS reducing holding, taking the net buying to 6,94,161 equity shares in May 2025.
6/11Fund houses like Kotak, ICICI Pru, 360 ONE added stake in the counter, while others like Baroda BNP Paribas and SBI offloaded positions- taking net status to overall buying in 1,24,34,376 scrips.
7/11SBI, Axis and Nippon India fund houses added stake in the scrip, while names like HDFC,ICICI Prudential and JM among others lowered stake - with net buy at 9,60,765 shares.
8/11Fund houses like ICICI Prudential, Nippon India and ITI added stake, while those who offloaded holdings were Aditya Birla, UTI among others. Total selling the scrip was at 5,90,082 shares in May.
9/11Mutual funds like Edelweiss, UTI etc added shares in the counter, while others like Invesco, HSBC, Motilal Oswal reduced stake to take the total selling to 5,90,082 shares in May.
10/11Coforge, meanwhile, saw big selling of 11,30,140 shares while others like KPIT Technologies and Tata Technology saw overall buying action. However, there was seen net selling in Tata Elxsi.
11/11Given the index weight as well as long term prospects, while fund houses remain upbeat, their stance is cautiously optimistic in the wake of high uncertainty amid global headwinds. Fund houses are looking to tap emerging opportunities within the sector.
