5 Stocks to Sell in Volatile Market: Brokerages flag Vodafone Idea, Indus Towers among others, downside potential up to 30%

Global brokerage Goldman Sachs has maintained a sell rating on Vodafone Idea, even as it raised the stock’s target price. The brokerage increased the target to Rs 5 from Rs 2.5, but continues to remain cautious on the stock’s outlook. Vodafone Idea shares closed 0.70 per cent lower at Rs 11.33 on the day. Despite the sell call, the stock has delivered strong gains, rising 12.4 per cent in the past five sessions, 65 per cent over six months, and around 20 per cent over the past year.

Global brokerage Citi has issued a sell rating on Jindal Steel, while also lowering its target price. The brokerage cut the target from Rs 830 to Rs 785. Despite the sell call, the stock closed around 1.5% higher at Rs 1,163 today. Over the past month, Jindal Steel has gained more than 7 per cent, while in six months it has risen 18 per cent, and over the past year, the stock has delivered a 45 per cent increase.

Global brokerage Goldman Sachs has issued a sell rating on Sun Pharma, while slightly lowering its target price from Rs 1,575 to Rs 1,550. On the trading day of February 4, 2026, the stock closed 0.5 per cent higher at Rs 1,703. Despite the minor intraday gain, Sun Pharma has seen a 1.5 per cent decline over the past month and a nearly 4 per cent drop over the past year.

Global brokerage Citi has issued a sell rating on NMDC shares, even as it raised the stock’s target price. The brokerage increased the target from Rs 66 to Rs 72. According to Citi, there were no major surprises in Q3 results, and the stock is expected to trade within a limited range in the near term. On the valuation front, upside potential appears limited, and the estimated dividend for FY26 is Rs 3.5 per share.

Global brokerage Goldman Sachs has issued a sell rating on Indus Towers, while raising its target price. The brokerage increased the target from Rs 350 to Rs 365. On February 4, 2026, the stock closed at Rs 445.50, up around 2 per cent during the day. Despite the sell call, Indus Towers has delivered 2.6 per cent returns over the past month, 28 per cent over six months, and 24 per cent over the past year.
