Stocks to Watch on Monday (March 2, 2026) Amid Middle East Tensions: Domestic equity benchmarks are likely to start Monday's session on a cautious note amid a raging military conflict in the Middle East, following the US-Israel joint attack against Iran that left its Supreme Leader killed. Tehran has launched retaliatory strikes against several American and Israeli allies in the Gulf, causing infrastructure damage, flight disruption and market uncertainty. Analysts say that although the attack against Iran was largely factored in, the severity of multi-pronged escalations will be closely tracked by investors.
According to market guru Anil Singhvi, the situation hasn’t caught investors off guard, with volatility set to persist in crude oil, gold, equities and currencies over the short term, though the broader impact may remain limited. He also pointed out that investors had been expecting the possibility of a military strike on Iran for weeks, which helped limit the shock effect on financial markets.
Early on Monday, GIFT Nifty futures -- an early indicator of the benchmark Nifty50 index -- were last seen trading 51.5 points, or 0.2 per cent, higher at 25,233.5, suggesting a muted to mildly positive start to the day on Dalal Street.
