HUL Demerger Record Date Today: Price discovery to revalue stock; Kwality Wall’s listing update

Both BSE and NSE will conduct a special pre-open session between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to enable price discovery. This will help determine the fair value of HUL shares after excluding the ice-cream division, Kwality Wall’s (India). The stock will then adjust to reflect the demerger.

HUL demerger details

The demerger became effective on 1 December 2025. Under the approved scheme, HUL has transferred all its ice-cream brands — Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto, Magnum, Feast, and Creamy Delight, to a newly created entity, Kwality Wall’s (India).

The company set 5 December 2025 as the record date to identify eligible shareholders who will receive shares of the new entity.

Share entitlement ratio

HUL has announced a 1:1 share entitlement ratio. Shareholders holding one HUL share on the record date will receive one share of Kwality Wall’s (India).

What changes for investors now

From today, HUL shares will trade without the value of the ice-cream business. The special pre-open session will ensure smooth price adjustment. The newly demerged entity will list separately after regulatory and exchange approvals.

Kwality Wall’s (India) Listing timeline

The new company may take up to a month to list as regulatory approvals are completed. After listing, exchanges will monitor its trading behaviour before removing it from indices.
