Domestic equity benchmarks are on course to finish the volatile session flat as selling pressure in energy stocks offsets buying interest in IT and FMCG scrips.
Dalal Street has lost momentum after a positive start to the day amid hopes the Fed may not keep key interest rates higher for longer.
Investors await more corporate results for domestic cues, with companies such as Godrej Consumer Products, Lupin and Marico scheduled to report their earnings for the January-March quarter later in the day.

The Lupin stock is up 0.9 per cent at Rs 1,670.8 apiece as Dalal Street enters the final 30 minutes of trade.
According to Zee Business research, Lupin is estimated to register a net profit of Rs 559 crore for the quarter ended March 31, more than double over a net profit of Rs 236 crore for the corresponding period a year ago.
The analysts expect the pharma company's quarterly revenue to grow 16.4 per cent to Rs 5,156 crore.

Godrej Consumer Products (GODREJCP) shares are down 0.2 per cent at Rs 1,249.1 apiece on BSE, having gyrated within a Rs 30 range, between Rs 1,238.9 and Rs 1,269.3, in intraday trade so far.

DMart shares are holding on firmly to the green with a gain of 0.6 per cent for the day at Rs 4,638.7 apiece, having risen by as much as Rs 124.3, or 2.7 per cent, to Rs 4,734.7 in intraday trade so far.
On Saturday, Avenue Supermarts reported a 22 per cent year-on-year jump in net profit with 20 per cent revenue growth for the final quarter of the financial year 2023-24.
The strong earnings prompted JPMorgan to lift its rating for DMart to 'overweight' from 'underweight' and raise its target price for the stock to Rs 5,400 from Rs 3,555.

M&M Financial Services shares are down 0.8 per cent at Rs 264.8 apiece in a sharp reversal after rising to as high as Rs 273.5 apiece in intraday trade.
Over the weekend, the NBFC registered 13.2 per cent growth in quarterly NII and logged an NIM of 7.1 per cent.

Britannia shares gain by as much as Rs 454.45, or 9.6 per cent, to Rs 5,199.6 apiece on BSE, after the company stages a strong financial performance for the January-March period.
Its margin for the three-month period comes in at 19.3 per cent with volume growth of 6.0 per cent.
According to Zee Business research, Britannia was estimated to log a quarterly margin of 19 per cent with sales volume growth to the tune of 4-5 per cent.

Bengaluru-headquartered Titan—whose popular brands include Fastrack, Sonata, Octane, Tanishq, CaratLane, Zoya and EyePlus—has reported a 7.1 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to Rs 786 crore with 16 per cent growth in revenue to Rs 11,257 crore for the fourth and final quarter of the financial year 2023-24. Its quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 6.2 per cent to Rs 1,109 crore but margin contracted by 90 basis points to 9.9 per cent, according to a regulatory filing
According to Zee Business research, Titan's March-quarter net profit was estimated at Rs 767 crore, revenue at Rs 11,354 crore, EBITDA at Rs 1,177 crore, and margin at 10 per cent.

The prospect of benchmark interest rates remaining elevated, as the Fed battles inflation, is further clouding the outlook for shares of smaller US companies, which have lagged broader markets this year. Smallcap stocks surged at the end of 2023, as expectations grew that the US central bank was done raising interest rates and would soon begin easing monetary policy.
