Gold silver rates on (March 27, 2023): The April futures of the yellow metal inched lower in morning deals on Monday, hovering around the Rs 59,100 per 10 grams mark. Here's what analysts suggest on gold.

Gold silver rates (March 27, 2023): The yellow metal futures weakened on Monday, March 27, last seen trading down by Rs 173 or 0.3 per cent on MCX at Rs 59,100 per 10 grams. Earlier in the day, the near-term gold futures contract moved within a range of Rs 385 — between Rs 58,925 and Rs 59,310.

MCX silver futures (May 5) were down by Rs 405 or 0.6 per cent at Rs 70,006 per kilogram.

The rupee was flat at 82.34 against the US dollar.

In the international market, spot gold was down 0.5 per cent at $1,969 per ounce and spot silver down 1.1 per cent at $23 per ounce.

What analysts recommend on gold & silver

IIFL Securities

Buy gold April futures at Rs 59,000 for a target price of Rs 59,500 with a stop loss at Rs 58,700.

The brokerage recommends buying the silver May contract at Rs 69,800 for a target of Rs 70,900 with a stop loss at Rs 69,000.

How gold rates have moved so far in 2023

Gold has risen 7.4 per cent so far in 2023, owing to wild swings in equities — which typically boosts the appeal of gold as a safety bet — and minor weakness in the US dollar against six peers other than the rupee, making the yellow metal more attractive to those holding other currencies.
