India’s sugar industry has received a major boost as the government approves the export of 1.5 million tonnes of sugar. In an exclusive conversation with Anil Singhvi, ISMA DG Deepak Ballani said the move will improve liquidity for sugar mills, reduce domestic stock pressure, and ensure timely payments to farmers. Additionally, the removal of 50% duty on molasses will benefit ethanol and biofuel producers, supporting India’s green energy goals.
